Try A Boat 2011 - Your chance to get on the water
The annual British Marine Federation (South West) ‘Try A Boat’ 2011 takes place in Dartmouth on the Bank Holiday weekend of 28-29th May. The event is organised by BMF SW in association with South Devon Marine and is being supported by businesses throughout the South West with the very kind cooperation of Dartmouth Harbour Master and the Dart Harbour Navigation Authority.
Try A Boat is all about encouraging members of the public to try boating for the first time or maybe a different type of boating activity with free sea trials on board any of the dozen or so craft that are scheduled to be available at this years event.
The range of craft extends from RIBS from RibEye to the stunning White Shark 285 from Ariba Team through to the beautiful Admirals Tender. Also on the pontoons will be a Bavaria 34 from Brixham Sea School, one of South Devon College’s yachts (Sigma 38 or Beneteau Oceanis 381) as well as the Salcombe Launch from Frogmore Boatyard. Ashore over fifteen exhibitors will have stands displaying a range of goods and services including engines, clothing and chandlery.
Try A Boat takes place on the South Embankment Dartmouth from 10.00hrs to 16.00hrs Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May. All trips must be booked in advance and are conducted by trained and qualified skippers. No unaccompanied children or pets are permitted on board any of the boats. The day promises to provide as many people as possible the opportunity to get onboard and experience the joys of boating.
